Do you wake up with your to-do list already planned out? Are you able to get dressed, brush your teeth, and eat breakfast before leaving for work? Or do you spend much of the morning just getting started on tasks, or even skipping them altogether because you’re still in bed when it’s time to leave? You can tell a lot about a person by the way they prepare.

“If you stay ready, then you don’t have to get ready.” and “proper preparation prevents a poorer performance”. What do these two quotes share in common? They both allude to the concept that if there is something coming up or an event on its way- prepare for it! This could be as simple as preparing for the workweek by going to bed early enough so as not too tired when Monday rolls around.
What about if you’re taking a trip? This could include checking the weather, packing clothes that are appropriate and comfortable. It could also be preparing emergency contact information in case of an accident or injury abroad, or making sure you have enough money with you for food and drink as well as any souvenirs!

What does it say about someone who doesn’t plan ahead for a trip or for anything that’s in front of them? Simply put, they’re not prepared. They haven’t taken into account what could occur in the future and don’t have a plan ready to go. Perhaps they did some light planning just enough to get by but didn’t prepare as much as needed.

You can tell a lot about a person by the way that they prepare. And the proof of your expectations is in your preparation. If you don’t expect much then you probably won’t prepare for much! A lot of people spend their time being negative and pessimistic because they think that life is too short. Life can be long if you plan for it! There’s no need to expect the worst when there are so many opportunities out in the world waiting for us, but we must always prepare ourselves by working hard today and thinking about tomorrow.
