One of my best friends and I were developing a business that had us searching the globe for the world’s most exotic fruits. We found bananas that taste like ice cream, fruit that taste like juicy fruit gum, and a fruit that grows up to the size of a car tire!

However, one of the most peculiar fruits we encounter was the durian. Durian is a small somewhat spikey fruit well known in Asia for its horrid smell. The smell is similar to the scent of warm garbage that was left to roast under the summer sun. The odor is so bad that it was banned from public transit in parts of Asia! Fascinatingly enough, the fruit is deliciously sweet! The problem is that you can’t get to the sweet interior without peeling through the sour smell of the shell.

“when life gives you durian, you cant always separate the sour moments from the sweet”.

Often times we veer away from the sour moments in our lives unaware of the sweetness contained on the other side. You have to understand that when life gives you durian, you cant always separate the sour moments from the sweet… It’s just apart of the meal for the season
